In this video, I'll show you how to replace the LCD sceen in your Kodak Zi6 for under 10 bucks, yep, under $10. The prodedure is probably the same for a Zi1 Zi8 or Playsport, and maybe other pocket video cameras as well.

  • OMG! This evening went horibly! I am in the middle of building a house. I have been taking pictures of the progress, so I had my zi6 in my back pocket. I sat on a floor joist and heard a really bad noise. Yep....broke the screen. I happened to have an older zi6 before that had quit working. I can't believe it was still sitting on the book case. I googled how to disassemble a zi6 and your video came up. YOU SAVE ME AT LEAST A HUNDRED BUCKS! I LOVE YOU!!

    seriously....thanks a million.

  • @deepbeeps Wow, thanks for your story, you just made my day!! Hope you kept your broken screen one for other future parts needs. Eventually I had to replace the USB connector with my broken one, here too, worked like a champ. Good luck on your house!!

  • Hi steelijan - Great video! Hoping you can help me. I have a cracked screen on my Kodak Easyshare C195 digital camera. Do you know where I could get a cheap replacement screen and would it be similar inserting it as in your video.

  • @joanybgood I'd probably look on e-bay for a non-working C195, that's how I get all my stuff to fix-up other stuff, lol. It's so much easier and cheaper than trying to find the specs for an lcd screen and trying to buy that raw part. And yes, it would probably be similar to changing the lcd screen on this Zi6. All of these tiny electronic things are similar and a bit of a hassle with tiny screws and such. But of course, I'd have to tear one up myself to be sure. Cheers!
