Hi, this is Kwokman. I'd like to talk about Apple, a company I'd admired for a very long time. My first computer was an Apple II, without which there wouldn't be PC. It was a company that led the trend. Nowadays, everyone knows Apple. iPod turned Apple around but also turned it from a technology company into a fashion company. Ever since iPod, Apple products have been about style rather than function. You probably don't agree with me as you might have bought several Apple products yourself. You probably have bought other useless but trendy stuff, e.g. jeans, bags, blue-ray disc players, which are trendy no more. I too was attracted intensely to the iPod mini's brushed aluminum seamless body and had one. Unlike other music player, I couldn't use it as a flash drive but the beautiful body compensated for its deficiency. It forced me to use iTune to rip and load songs and I tolerated that. But accidentally syncing it with another PC erased all the songs. Each iPod could only work with one computer. Does it have to be so restrictive?! Searching online will probably find tools that could defy Steve Jobs but I thought Apple was about user-friendliness! Why should I waste time finding tools after paying much more for an iPod? You call this user-friendly? You couldn't even change the battery. However, that may not be necessary anyway as the lovely touch wheel seldom outlived the battery. Then I bought another music player that could be mounted as a flash drive. Loading music was as easy as copy and paste. The microSD slot effectively removed any limit on storage. That's what I call user-friendly. Besides iPod, Apple also produces iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air. As big as iPad, expansion slot for memory card is nowhere to be found. Steve Jobs, I know it displeases you if your customer can expand storage at will. Will it kill you if they use the iPad to check out the pictures they've just taken? Unfortunately there are far more idiots than smart consumers. That's why Apple products are so popular. All these useless gadgets weight down on your shoulders. MacBook Airs have very few USB ports. You'll need to get adapters for anything, even network. These adapters are easy to lose. When inserted, they could damage the USB ports if handled improperly. These gadgets are mostly superficial. On the subway, many people play with their smart phones in isolation. The most popular games are the primitive ones from the Atari ages, e.g. hitting bricks with a bouncing dot, centipede, etc. There's also a simple new game called angry bird. People buy these gadgets for being trendy but not for their functions. The Apple products seem stylish but are ridiculously restrictive. Yet people wait overnight to get their hands on them whenever there's a new model. HK people even came to the US to buy the new iPhones, which would be available in HK in two weeks. Some paid several times the suggested price to buy these phones in HK, which were not built for the HK network, merely to show off for two weeks. These idiots didn't even know people laughed about them.
