It's awesome to see someone of his caliber still having fun and not taking himself too seriously. I couldn't believe when I saw him playing Hap Shaughnessy. Still makes me laugh!

I've seen only recently "Away from her" and I've appreciated very much both performances of Miss Christie and Mr Pinsent. I'd heard much talk about how wonderful Christie is in this lovely movie and after having seen it I can not but agree. Nevertheless I think that Pinsent's performance it's even greater then Christie's. I did not know Pinsent before and it was a real surprise to me. My warmth compliments Mr. Pinsent.

I love Godron - He played the President in "Colossus, The Forbin Project". I'd vote for him!

What a great actor. 80 years old and still doing spectacular projects for Canadian TV. Too bad CBC doesn't air his earlier works. Funny to see him as a Mountie in the kids' show Forest Rangers and later on Due South. Also memorable as hockey team owner Duff McArdle in Power Play.

He's also the voice of Babar in the TV series.

I was a young child when A Gift to Last was on TV. My family was waiting on my aunt at the airport in Ottawa and we saw Gordon Pinsent. I remember approaching him and saying you're a superstar (to me he was)! He spent about 30 minutes talking with our group of 10-people (all country folk from up the valley). One was French and did not know him and was completely convinced that he was a relative or somebody from back home. A kinder more approachable humble person does not exist!
Mr Pinsent is such a keystone to Canadian literature, screen, and stage.
NSI, how about pushing to get Gordon Pinsent's film 'John and the Missus' out on DVD? That wonderful piece of Canadian cinema needs to be available for the younger generations. Let's get 'John and the Missus' on DVD!
