Okay, it is very important to acknowledge both sides of this argument. Our country was basically built on racism, so Harry is right in acknowledging that a view of history is critical in one's assement of the needs of people of color. Herman often tries to deny this, but it can't be denied. In addition, Herman's particular accomplishments are a testament to his own will power, and intelligence. I don't think a lack of intelligence is his problem, I think it's a lack of a more wholistic view.

@mikedd56 I'm sure he is intelligent didn't say he wasn't! obviously to be a serious contender for the white house you must have some brains..unless you're sarah palin.....Generally when you forget something, you need to REMEMBER. What he needs to remember is of the struggle his ancestors went through. Well obviously I wouldn't have brought it up if it was a white man because they haven't faced the same level of oppression our ancestors did.

Are you serious? Just what exactly do you measure intelligence with. Let me guess whether or not he's a democrat. I've listened to his radio show for years trust me he is intelligent. So what does Herman have to do to not forget his heritage? What sort of line of work is acceptable for a black man to pursue these days that isnt considered 'white society' or is he allowed to earn a living at all? Please enlighten me

How about Harry's closet! Harry is intellegent!? Who is it that has a squeaky clean closet out there? Not sure of the Cain allegations, but all those running for office could not certainly be any better! One flirtatious moment with a few remarks made does not make the man! The man that overcomes that flirtatious deed is the winner!

Getting a masters degree and taking 400+ poorly operating Burger Kings and turning them around to make them profitable implies intelligence. This fact has nothing to do with the civil rights movement. If a white man did this, you wouldn't have even brought it up.

All those things are what white society have created that what you consider measures intelligence. Clearly Herman Cain has forgotten his heritage because after all the civil rights movement would not have been possible if it wasn't for the liberal views of our ancestors. If being the CEO of a pizza company and passing his master's exam makes you believe he is so intelligent? My God.....
