its not cruel cropping the ears L0L its only cruel when dumb people do it themselves by keeping the poor dogs awake!!! while doing it! that's CRUEL! but having them professionally done is fine because they sleep them, if i get a pit bull or a doberman i would take my dog to a vet a professional!

@godislove181 its cruel when people do it themselves yes, but also when people take them to a pro. its not just the physical cropping of the ears thats whats cruel about it, its the fact that you're disabling one of a dog's major senses - its hearing. cropping removes an important part of the ear that the dog can use to protect its fine hearing from abrasive sounds that could damage it. it also can result in an amplification of all sounds which is totally aggravating and stressful!

My last post wasn't sent in its entirety. (damn these smart phones) Let me finish by saying if this particular owner rescued the dogs in the video, and all that ear mutilation was done by previous owners, then I certainly applaud him for opening his heart & home. No question.

Nice healthy looking dogs. Too bad someone completely mutilated all their ears by doing such shitty cropping. My Pits (all rescues) have beautiful and correctly formed natural ears which, IMO, is the only way they should be.

The ears are also extremely important in reading a Pit's body language, as with most dogs, and should be left alone. This owner gets an A for showing us some well behaved canines and for appearing to be a responsible bully breed owner, but a big fat F for the horrible thi

@dogtrainerthe I never said I agreed with cropping, it's pointless and so is the docking of the tail (unless the dog has an injury to the tail in which it would be beneficial to remove part of the tail to save the dog pain, which I'm not saying docking isn't painful I'm just saying a little bit of pain to save from a lot of pain in the future is worth it). But in a general sense, docking and cropping are highly unnecessary and actually takes away from the beauty of the dog.

@FashionDiva181 You can put any fancy name you like on it but cutting a dogs ears off is cutting a dogs ears off in any language and is wrong.Dogs are born perfect and dont need "tweeking" by us for money because thats what it all comes down too! Its all about money at the end of day and fairly little to do with the welfare of the dog.Sad to say but most people that agree with docking, cropping, chopping or whatever are either in it for the money or totally messed up in the head!
