Autism needs true awareness, not a bunch of moronic celebrities saying that they want to cure autism like Jenny McCarthy, who seems to be after oublicity. By true awareness, I mean that people have to stop listening to ignoramuses like JB Handley and Jenny McCarthy and start listening to more accepting parents and autistics themselves. However, that won't happen since the media only cares about ratings and celebrities bring in ratings.

People like Jenny are only out for publicity, therefore, they are exploiting autistic individuals. Keep in mind that autism is not a handicap like mental retardation. To want a cure is the same as denying an autistic's talents. You have heard of Stephen Wiltshire, right?

Yes, Autism can make a person very skilled or intelligent in one area. However there is a real debate over this issue of a cure. Please listen to my video "My Obsessions". It is based on an article written by my autistic friend.
