@SirSafer I wouldn't say the men who supported the Bill of Rights were anti-government, they were opposed to a big government which would infringe on individual natural and civil rights. Patrick Henry was an anti-federalist, Madison wrote the federal papers supporting the Constitution, he knew government is necessary but had a healthy suspicion of it. Neocons and the religious right have taken over the Republican party unfortunately. They are simply void of ideas now.
