The first minute is the sunset at Torrey Pines State Beach. The rest of the video is a compilation video of the bioluminescent waves at Torrey Pines State Beach in La Jolla, California. Filmed October 1st and 2nd with Canon 7D, 50mm, 1/20, 1.8, between ISO 6400 and ISO 12800. Sound replaced by random techno song because the audio is unusable (loud ocean waves).
The phytoplankton responsible for the glow in the dark effect is Lingulodinium polyedrum. I have read that when you walk on the beach where the sea water is soaked in, your feet can glow, but I did not experience it myself. Also, read you can bottle the water, shake it and it will glow!
No color correction was done, color is more turquoise blue green when seen by eye.
Do you know if there is still a red tide in this area?

@marlene711 I heard that it has happened for the last couple of weeks and will continue for another couple of weeks. I also was told that it happens once every two years so it's worth checking out now if you can.
