it is really by weight, but if your a beginner and short but heavy you would be better off going by this method. it is the best way to figure out what size board you'll want to use and have the most fun on. so yeah, she's right!!!!

correct snowboard length is determined by weight, not by height. chin to nose is just generally close enough for average weight people.
i like that REI is trying to put educational videos out, but ive seen a few others and they are rife with inaccuracies. i think REI should address this before they get a bad rap.
i want to ask how tall is she because i dont want to look all around to figure out my size of a board
