HoneySuperCell

HSC is dedicated to the simple concept that HoneyBee
health can be positively affected by using small cell
(4.9mm I.D.) cells in the brood chamber to suppress
Varroa Mite.
This is a purely cultural control that drastically
decreases the amount of drone brood and increases
the difficulty for the mite to survive with the brood in the
restricted size cell and also slightly shortens the brood
cycle so that the bee hatches slightly quicker thereby
depriving the mite critical hosting time.

  • Tanks for doing this vid! i was wondering how are your bees doing?

i am using foundationless frames but the supper cells look like a great idea. my next hive i will try this.

  • Most hives are assembled with 10D out door nails. You could also use 1 1/2" roofing nails in a gun. I use 1 1/4 deck screws.
