Good Point. Ricky Fataar was kinda brown. Luv both the BBs & The Cabs.
-
@TOILETISOLATION well I have been into them since 1985 and read a lot of interviews by them. what I said was common knowledge anyway so you're being a bit over the top
-
@ruffian1868 I am ashamed of myself for taking some author's viewpoint as word. Yes Dennis used the choir on River Song and the BB's covered Stevie Wonder's "i was made to love her" and besides "soul" music belongs to all people no matter what their skin colour anyway : )
-
@emile235 I've read it, and it is just one of the many older perpections of the band and Dennis. I much prefer Jon Stebbins book " The Real Beach Boy ". His use of the Baptist Choir on " River Song " is yet another example of Dennis's open mind to all forms of music.
-
@ruffian1868 yes because they were co-workers ;part of the BB entourage. Everyone knew that Dennis did not like black soul music and that's one of the first things that Manson said to him when he met him. If you don't believe me check out the bio HEROES AND VILLAINS
-
@emile235 . Well I doubt that as two of his closest friends in the middle BB era were Ricky Fataar and Blondie Chaplin.
-
@ruffian1868 nope Dennis hated black music hence his friendship with nazi Manson
-
@NunzOnDrugs the Beach Boys were real proficient composers/muscians whereas CV were art college types who probbaly knew nothing about music so the comaprison imo is not valid,

I always used to go dance crazy on this one.
It was a tough 8 1/2 min, I can tell you that for sure!

Cabaret Voltaire: Everybody's favorite sunshine feel-good band! C,V, gave the Beachboys a run for their money for the cheerful optimistic pop department. For C.V. the summer was endless and the surf was always up!
