This is a video response to Corey Anton (Professoranton). I talk about his videos on the gift character of life and the possibility that not only is there a gift character to life, but also that we as humans feel that we are owed an afterlife. I think that the idea of there not being an afterlife is a gross violation of the sacredness of life, at least from what I believe to be the point of view of many people.

There seems to be something very wrong in the idea that we live on this Earth for such a short time, and then we die... leaving nothing behind. We simply cease to be. We stop experiencing life and the Universe moves on without us.

  • Love this man this is good stuff...this is why It is so difficualt to keep up that thought and action of recognizing that life is a gift and one reallu "ought" to fulsill his true potential down to a t...and leave something worth while behind....however to think like that all the time can be very daunting... we all need an escape sometimes but the trick is to highly regulate this escapism...peace out man keep sailing owards on your journey through life...Versucher-out-

Thanks, man. I really appreciate that. This is all really new territory for me and I'm learning a lot along the way. And this is one reason that I really like YouTube. There are a lot of cool people out there who are willing to give their opinion, critique and compliment the ideas that I put out there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  • @f1ghtclub2k3 Np dude I look foward to more videos from you...also I subed you and befriended you hit me on here if you got any questions or you jsut want to chat or something.

  • @f1ghtclub2k3

    Awesome. Will do.

  • great response. It is difficult at 1: 40 or so it is interesting that you use the word "robbed". I would suggest that it is precisely money/ literacy, calendars (compound interest) that have produced this "causa sui" sense (self cause) & it was the transition from cyclical time to linear time. The key distinction, roughly, is between tasting eternity by transcendence and yearnings for personal immortality.

& Why does life or God need a happily ever after? Sounds kinda ungrateful to me.

  • @Professoranton

I think one reason for the need for a "happily ever after" comes from the acknowledgment of how special life really is. I tend to think we perceive this "specialness" and there is somehow a disconnect. I guess it's a non-sequitur, but we want to associate this specialness with purpose or intent - there's something unsatisfying about it. And, yes, ungrateful seems to be the word for it. We want satisfaction... how right Mick Jagger is.

  • @TheSkepticalAtheist this is scary however when one accepts that ther eis no other world no other life besides this one it really gives a transformative power to living this life to yuor highest potential...I think the transition from nihilism to life vitality is a phenomenon that will be increasingly present and prevalent.

  • The Waste Character of Life...Introduced.

  • Once we get past the fear of death and take it as it is, it is not unfair at all. It is the most natural thing you ever can expect, even more natural than birth.

  • @spartacandream

Completely agree. We live in such a vast Universe that will inevitably go largely unexplored. It seems like such a tragic waste.

  • @KenChamberlain

I guess it's not the idea of missing it when you're gone. It's the fact that we have this "gift" and there's something about having it "taken" from us that seems unjust.
