From the 1959 B-movie where people travel to Mars and are under attack by a giant spider/crab/bat creature. The scenes with the sets of Mars are shot in Cinemagic.

  • 20 eyes are in my head......

  • I saw this thing in the music video for "Number of the Beast" by iron maiden

  • funny people thought this might have roamed mars

  • walk among us.

  • I am always surprised by how much great sound helps with any of these cardboard creatures, you can make a goofy looking monster, but give it great sound and it really comes alive.

  • Peek-A-Boo! Saw this high on JuJuB's at the maplewood Theater, St. Louis when it first hit the second run shows. Could have stayed on mars all day - despite the "Heed our warning" from Ol' Three-Eyes" at the very end. Worth seeing with any nine-year old boy today!

  • Wiki "solarized"

  • @frantic1971 right, cinemagic i think it's called. supposed to distract the viewer so the live actors would blend with the hand drawn scenes.

  • Some people who have seen this movie have assumed that the washed-out look is due to bad film prints. However it was intentionally made that way, I suppose to give it an "otherworldly" look. Not too sure how successful that was in the end.

  • @7DARKHELLS It wouldn't have understood what it was looking at.
