Why doesn't he count to 9 and 10 (ku, ju) instead of 1-8, 1-8?

@HeartGoldFan100 you never are really done with any kata, some people even after reaching godan or higher will practice heian shodan and find new applications. It just goes to show you that kata no mater how "basic" we think it is should always be practiced.

Osu!and Aloha Thanks for putting these videos up on youtube. It's bringing back some great memories I trained under Shihan Hirano, for 10 years back in Hawaii. but before that I trained at the JIKC Waianae Dojo for 10 years. I was Sensei Roy's sempai at the Aiea Dojo. I live in New Zealand now but every time I go home I train at the Main Hawaii Dojo or the Makakilo Dojo, my long time JIKC friend teaches there now, Sensei Henry. Osu! Great to meet you. YouTube makes this a small world. Do you still train in New Zealand? I have been to Hawaii twice. I trained with Soke Hirano there, Shihan Ronnie Woodard, Sensei Roy, Sensei Rusty, Sensei Debra and Sensei Howard. I love Sensei Roy and Sensei Martha. They are the greatest. They visited and trained with me in 2006 at my dojo and home. I just saw them at Sensei David's tournament in Alabama. They are doing great. If you are training now, Send me a video. Osu!

Osu! Yes I still train, I started a small dojo here for me and the family. I'll do a video up of us training and post it some time. I went home 2 years ago and saw Soke, Sensei Rusty, Senei Debra and Sensei Howard, I used to train in Soke's Academy and Kumite classes and Sensei Henry made me promise I wouldn't kill or hit his students before he would let me train in the Makakilo Dojo lol. I also used to Sempai for Sensei Rusty too a few years after Aiea,nice to meet you and thx 4 the reply OSU!
