Oliver was born crippled, his legs splayed out in front and behind him, and all he could do was wiggle along on his chest.
The Taiwan SPCA took Oliver to Dr Yeh at NTU Veterinary Hospital--the same vet who rebuilt Little Blackie's face. Dr Yeh realized that there was a chance for Oliver, but the window of opportunity was closing, as the physiotherapy he needed would only be effective while Oliver was still so young.
So Oliver stayed at NTU for ten days. When we left him, he was a cute puppy with a very dim future. When we got the call from Dr Yeh's students to go pick up Oliver, we were not expecting to see what you're seeing in the video.
Oliver can walk!
We're over the moon, as are Connie and Carlo. who have been fostering Oliver, along with his mum and sister, for the last month or so--not an enviable task given Oliver's previous condition and difficulties.
Oliver's future is now much brighter and we envision even greater progress in the coming months. A million thanks to Dr Yeh and his vet students at NTU, to Connie and Carlo, and to all of you who continue to support the Taiwan SPCA so that we can continue to help animals like Oliver.
More from Oliver later!
