  • That was an interesting interview. I knew Jeff got a lot of grief from some vicious people, but I didn't know it pissed him off that much. He made a really good game, but some people acted like he was a criminal. All the venom directed at him was ridiculous and bang out of order.

This new game looks good, so I'll be buying it, and it's great to see that Jeff has regained his enthusiasm for creating games. It will be interesting to see what games he conjures-up.

  • volkte37 obviously doesn't have a clue!!!

If volkte37 had done their homework they would realise that Jeff minter is a genius.

The games are only one part of his work, look at the amazing development on light synthesis.from colourspace to vlm3 amazing.

I think his games and ideas are wonderfully different from the millions of generic shooters about now.

He has good reason to be pissed off.

He is just too decent a human being in an industry full of arseholes.

  • Jeff minter knows the bullshit from organisations like Microsoft, he even know how the press pander playing reverse Devil's advocate too; you can hear both in this video. I'm sad because Minter sounds to be a defeated figure here, I hope he goes back to embracing the enemy for the sake of art - all patrons are there to test the greats like Jeff Minter. To me his new focus is living in the past - Space Giraffe was past and future combined.

  • "needlessly weird"?!!?!?!

  • @marcomediaman I will agree he is in an industry full of arseholes and fatcats that want to make money etc. But I have just always found Minter's games to be hugely overrated and needlessly weird, even when gaming back in the 80s. The VLM stuff is nice and all that but I want to play games, not with silly software. I don't dislike the guy, but for me it looks like he cannot move on from making the same old games he made 25 years ago.

  • @volkte37 fuk aff

    slagging of minter. He's alright.

  • Poor Jeff. Most of the reviews were really positive though. I think the Xbox game store was never going to make many people rich though, at least not people making really innovative games (it was on the more experimental end of his oeuvre). I think he's onto a winning formula if he keeps pumping out small games though. If you've 12 games a year ones more likely to take off and make you a decent living than if you spend a year and a half on one.

  • I've just looked for the review he mentions. 2/10 is a bit harsh, I've played Space Giraffe it's not a bad game.

Minotaur Porn? Rule #34 = If it exists, there is porn of it.

  • STOP DRUMMING WHEN GOD IS TALKING

  • Space Giraffe is indeed Jeff's best work
