With setting up steers is seen some people set them perfectly square and some have a leg set slightly behind them. What is the correct way?

If you are standing nose to tail bring the the left leg forward a little bit. If you are standing side by side keep the two back legs even (square).

There are lot of great breeds of cattle out there, obviously Angus is our preference. Contact breed associations, your neighbors or county agents, they can help you determine which direction you should take. Good luck this year!

It is good to start early and practice. If you clip them out a month before, you can go back over them later on. This will allow you to fix any mistakes.

Be sure to watch Part 1 of Fitting and Showing Angus Cattle. These tips are great no matter what breed you have, though.
