AJ and the entire flute section get to show off their piccolo prowess during Sousa's Stars & Stripes Forever. If you are "of a certain age" I defy you to hear this piece and NOT sing "Be kind to your web-footed friends for a duck may be somebody's mother".

  • aw, I was hoping that Charles would join them! ;)

  • @Flashmilkis search detroit star wars medley.

    thats what happened before.

  • what happened before this... lol

  • Woo hoo!!!!!!

  • It's actually not an Orchestra members father. It's Charles Burke's (Director of Education for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of Civic Youth Ensembles) father. Charles is the guy talking in the beginning. I interned at the DSO.

  • I caught a recorded broadcast of The Civic's concert on WRCJ on Sunday, May, 22nd, and they sounded fantastic! I was particularly impressed with "Air on the G String", which was made even more moving by the touching tribute to the orchestra member's father. Very well done!
