PRESS "WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY"!!!

Here it is, the final installment in the Ninja Saga series: Episode 3.

This film was the result of a project Lewis Nicolle and Frank Tsai had to do for French 12. The video had to be on the topic of imagination, which basically meant that we could do whatever we wanted.

To clear up some stuff at the very beginning of the movie: Those quick flashes to seemingly random scenes are supposed to flashbacks to the previous episode of The Ninja Saga. Also, beginning with the second shot of the movie, we're supposed to be doing 1st person POV (point of view) shots, although this is likely not clear until later on in these POV shots. It is fairly clear, however, when these shots end.

Although the video quality of this YouTube video is still quite low (that's entirely YouTube's fault), the quality of the final movie itself is a lot better than the last episode. This is mostly because I used VideoSpin rather than Adobe Premiere Pro. APP is a lot more powerful that VideoSpin, but it's very resource heavy (something my terrible computer can't handle), and the trial version I'm using doesn't import MPEG-2 files, the file type my camcorder records to. VideoSpin is relatively resource light and imports MPEG-2 files. Also, I used the DV AVI format for the final video, rather than XviD AVI, converted to MPEG-2, then burnt to a VCD (which is what I used for the previous video, and the quality was terrible).

For those who are wondering, that final scene is filmed on top of the Point Grey Mini portables. We don't know why, but we both agreed that our filming experience while up there was absolutely amazing. We guess it was just the fact that we were in such a unique environment.

We weren't able to have a third person help do the filming of the movie, so we just had to make do ourselves. We filmed as many shots as we could with only one person in them. Neither of us had a tripod, so for the shots that required both of us, we took a wire music stand, turn the top part flat, placed a book on top of it, and placed the camcorder on top of that. Our makeshift stand actually worked surprisingly well. You can see this stand in the background of one of the shots in the rooftop scene (this was a goof on our part).

The music used in the movie came from a variety of places. The opening track was a song called "No Cake For You," from the video game Portal. That then fades into some ambient sound from the short movie "Elephants Dream." The second scene begins with some more Elephants Dream music, this track called "The Safest Place." The next track is from the final boss battle of the video game Metroid Prime. After that comes the suicide song from the computer game King's Quest VI. The movie ends with "When You Were Young" by The Killers.
