Using guilt and shame. In this case - a weird reason - but a "guilt and shame"-method in Logan mormon ward, by bishop Cropper. 03.03.09

  • actually, freedom of speech guarantees us the right to say anything we want about anyone, or anything, as long as it is not libelous. If someone sees people joining churches that they believe will cause them to not be saved, and go to an eternity in hell, and they DON"T say something, they are a lot more guilty before God than they are before man by "attacking" a particular church or organization. I don't agree with everything Shawn says or does, but I do believe he cares about LDS people

  • @sureman1964 if Shawan says there is an Oasis bookstore that this young man went to, then there is an Oasis bookstore that this young man went to. The only lie is that salvation is by or through some sort of man run organization, and not directly through Jesus Christ. He may have made a mistake pertaining to the location of the bookstore, but he is not prone to making up stories or lies. A witness who did that would be found out and outed in a major way.

  • excommunication is Biblical, but only God can declare someone apostate. Man's power and authority do not extend to the ability to declare someone saved or lost.. I know an LDS guy whose daughter was excommunicated because of gross misconduct, and she went to an evangelical church, and is now happy and spiritually healthy, and declares that Jesus is her savior. He admitted that going to that church had done what the LDS church couldn't, but didn't acknowledge that the LDS church was wrong

  • I would like some stats as to where Shawn knows that some people who want their name taken off the church are just then excommunicated instead. And also, since he rarely tells, where does he get the facts to back up his stats.

  • there is not an Oasis book store in that area, I live there, I know. I am not a mormon, just tired of this kind of weirdo spreading evil will about my good neighbors. I guess freedom of religion does piss people off still to this day.

  • @jonnyboy1411 I think you make some very valid points and I think you're trying to make them in a non-offensive way. Thanks for that.

  • @Keruran

    Yes i am.

  • @jonnyboy1411

    You're a Mormon aren't you jonnyboy1411.

  • that the mormon religon is fake is always backed up by sketchy stories and wack-jobs. In every religon there are plenty of those but just becuase you "heard" a "story" about some crazy mormon that doesnt mean the whole church is fake. This goes for ALL religons.
