How noisy is this laptop? Could it be used in a classroom?

  • @TheEnthralledOne noisy only under full load. if the dedicated vga is disabled like shown in the video it is ok. if under full load it is pretty lound

  • Was looking through your website. I really, really like the customizable warranty coverage/loaner laptop/speedy repair options you have on your site. Great review!

  • @VoodooRhythmSound thanks!

  • for a 15" screen, 1080p screen SUCKS. Everything is WAYYY too small.

  • I want to build a netbook from scratch, not barebone, scratch. How would I go about connecting a motherboard to a CPU, video card, RAM, and SSD (I'm not going to use a hard drive, I prefer SSD)?

  • is the graphics card easy to change out?

  • @VoodooRhythmSound yeah and eddie is the best to do business with!

  • @cherub96 you can configure your bto laptop at bto's website, you can add the option to let them make it a non-glossy screen.

  • Too bad it has a glossy screen. I don't understand why anyone would buy a glossy notebook, the reflections make the thing unusable in well-lit environments and outdoors, and the benefits of a glossy screen are marginal.

  • Would you recommend one of these (Essentially fully loaded) as my first computer? (I start highschool in 2 months). I am a multitasker, at certain times I may have as many as 5 very demanding programs running at once, and I am a gamer. I have a mediocre

budget, and the computer that I have put together after quite a bit of research costs $1,049. I am seriously considering it.

  • @Atheismrulez I used 2048x1536 in 15" @170.7 PPI and had no problems with it.

Also you shouldn't base your screen choice entirely on gaming. 1600x900 is a good resolution (much better than 1366x768), but 1920x1080 is perfect for multitasking.

  • Great laptop. I think the 1920x1080 option is a waste due to the fact the screen is glossy and you pretty much destroy any prospect of gaming at native res.

1600x900 is a much better balance, IMO. I still don't know how people can handle 140 PPI in a computer. Dot pitch is too small, IMO.

  • Looks like the max possible score is 7.9
