  • I used to get so annoyed by people who demanded "rights" for chickens and stupidity like that.

Well, then somehow I was talked into keeping a small flock of our own, for our eggs.

I am almost embarrassed to say now I've bonded with the chickens, and I see how much my birds love to free range daily. They are only in their pen at night, so nothing kills them.

I think all chickens should live that way, and it's disgusting and sad that to see how these factory chickens must "live".

  • That is sad. here in Switzerland we have strict regulations for free range.

  • Thanks!

  • One chicken would fit in that cage in my opinion. How could you keep 5 in there?

  • Caged eggs are cheaper though :(

  • Very true. And nice facility by the way.

  • free range can be a total lie. it just means, as the person said, that they can go outside if they want. almost none get any more room. the only way around it is to go vegan. just do it one step at a time. go pescitarian first, then vegetarian, and then eventually veganism is the answer. i am currently a vegetarian, as my parents wont let me be vegan, but even that is satisfying, knowing that i am not responsible for dead animals, and i can't wait to become vegan too.

  • I go through get efforts to try and obtain the most humane products. I am even to the point of thinking what right do we have to imprision an animal at all simply because we want to eat them or their bi-products. This being said...Go local. If you every see a factory farm..especially chickens, it is the worst thing ever. It is a holocaust and I will not support that. I f you buy local, sometimes cheaper than the inhumane products at the store. For me, I get 1 dozen for 2.00.

  • I agree totally.

  • the chikkinz deserve to be well kept and well treated. I suppourt the local nicely-treated chikkin egg industry. I'll gladly pay twice the price for cruelty-free eggs. The chikkinz do us a great service by laying for us...w e should at least support those that threat them well. <3 the Chikkinz.

  • Me chicken eat fast, no care what chicken white, run house or cage. chicken egg good.. Turkey egg OK, big big big.

Chicken run high. go chicken run high
