Glass Roots

GlassRoots was founded in January 2001 with the belief that communities can be transformed and elevated through the arts. We knew that the youth of our community held enormous potential which could be realized if only they were empowered with the gift of creative self-expression. GlassRoots provides the youth of Newark, NJ with a unique opportunity to develop their minds and their confidence through the creation of glass art. By teaching our students how to master this tradecraft, we not only reveal their immense creative potential, but also tap the cognitive abilities which can help them with school, work, and life.

To give these nascent artist space and tools to grow and find themselves is amazing. And yes,many special needs kids have innate talents that are often so untapped. We've had YA YA , (young aspirations/young artist)a similar program here in New Orleans for year. The benefits of both are infinite. Keep up the program and be blessed.
