Monte Christi - Viscape 10-day video blog tour of the Dom...

We arrived to Monte Christi, which is right next door to Haiti on the far northwest coast of the Dominican Republic. We were excited about climbing the stairway to to heaven to catch the heavenly views, but unfortunately, the stairway was broken. :( Monte Christi was a very poor area, a shanty town. The closer you get to Haiti, the poorer it it. Maybe because a lot of Haitians cross the border illegally. The so-called "national park" didn't seem like much of a park and there were no signs. It was very hard to get around. It was at least a 6 hour drive round trip from Puerto Plata. Watch the video to learn more about our experience and what we saw.
