Sheikh Jarrah 10 Dec 2009, Israeli settlers act intimidatingly

The Jewish settler group that has taken over several houses in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in occupied East Jerusalem continues to harass the Palestinian residents and vandalise Palestinian property.

On Thursday 10 December 2009 around 6 pm, in particular two of the settlers acted intimidatingly towards Palestinians and international activists. The settlers hovered in the gate to the Kurd family property and in the street between the occupied Ghawi and Kurd family houses, looking menacingly at nearby Palestinians. One of the settlers verbally harassed the Palestinian children and women.

Later in the evening of 10 December, one of the mentioned settlers returned after having left the neighbourhood for a while; apparently to fetch a laser pen which he proceeded to flash into the eyes of Palestinians and international activists on the street outside the Ghawi tent and Kurd house. Green laser can cause permanent damage to eyes and using it like this is illegal.

The video shows the settlers looking menacingly at Palestinians.
