Stay tuned for part four, the final installment of "A Visit to the Art Institute of Chicago"!

Part three of a documentary travel film presented by Talk About A Good Time about the world-renowned Art Institute of Chicago, located in Chicago, Illinois.

Located at the end of South Michigan Avenue, at one million square feet, it is the second largest art museum in the U.S., surpassed only by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Its collection encompasses more than 5,000 years of human expression from cultures around the world and contains more than 260,000 works of art.

In this installment, we continue to learn about the Art Institute's European collection, specifically its Renaissance-era works, the varied collection of ancient Roman, Greek, and Egyptian art and artifacts, and begin to look at the new Modern Wing, starting with Abstract Expressionism.

  • Never thought of expressionism or modern art but that was a good use of George Winston's version of 'Skating'

  • Thanks for your comment! It's actually the Vince Guaraldi Trio version. A great song, either way.
