  • @Kenta19191919 The thing with our Royal Family up until around the time of Victoria, they got their personal wealth from the land they owned, i.e. the Crown Estate, Duchy of Lancaster and Cornwall. But George III himself made a deal with parliament for a civil list which garunteed income for state purposes every year in exchange for the Crown estate money. Oddly, the Crown Estate is worth so much more than the current civil list is. Bad deal really lol.

  • The Crown Jewels had nothing so special at the time. It is only during and after the reign on Victoria the Jewel Collection began to have special stones. From what I heard, the Royal Family was still relatively poor at the time.
