  • @VampVince1307 Irish choral group Anuna performed this song before Orla did; could it be that you heard it from them?

  • @lunescent2007 I think that the lyrics are from the 90's--Eimear Quinn(sp?), IIRC. I *think* the tune is from elsewhere, but I don't remember where/who.

By the way you should look up Eimear Quinn. She rocks in her own right. Sang with Anuna before going solo...

  • @musicandyceramist Eimear Quinn was with Anuna in the 90's; she might have sung "Winter, Fire, and Snow" with them at that time. As far as I know Brendan Graham and Michael McGlynn were responsible for arranging the original poem and adding music to it. And I have heard of Eimear before; lovely soprano.

  • @isabelchan19 I think Orla's singing alto-range here; I'm afraid I don't know the mezzo-soprano part, though the soprano part does exist.

  • All of us thank Macdara Woods for the poem, "Winter, Fire and Carnaval" on which Brendan Graham based this wonderful song.

  • I can't even get over how gorgeous this album sounds...

  • "

    BEAUTIFUL LIKE SONG :-))))

  • wonderfull...I love it!

  • @VampVince1307: There's Anuna's great version with soloist Katie McMahon on YouTube.... and an excellent live version with Éabha Mc Mahon you can view here: watch?v=KJ0uqNjPfKM

  • She's a good singer. What really makes her a great singer for me is the way she matches her intonation to the instrumentation. The notes of the harp really sound like an extension of her voice when they are in unison, and sonic life just doesn't get any better than that. Thanks, Orla.

  • For whatever reason, this reminds me of a winter day in Hogsmeade...

  • @VampVince1307 Ya it sounds familiar to me to....
