Jeff chose to have a child through traditional surrogacy without the assistance of an agency. He discusses his reasons for both of these choices. He describes how he found a surrogate, his relationship with his surrogate, and legal and financial issues. Jeff spoke at the fifth annual "Men Having Babies" seminar, hosted by Center Kids, the family program of the New York LGBT Community Center. The panel was moderated by Terry Boggis, the director of Center Kids. Check this channel for several more clips from this event. The seminar included three parts: an overview of the surrogacy and egg donation process by a panel of legal and medical experts; short presentations by agencies and organizations who provide services and support for gay men who want to have babies; and personal stories from NY gay parents (Tom & Jeff), a surrogate and (for the first time this year) an egg donor.
