Oh that is because the test shots were done in 25P (PAL land here) at a shutter of 50. If you shoot at 30P it would be better. The choppiness is also due to compression (CODEC) issues.

I have the same issues for DSLR.

5D2 Full Frame Sensor size is 864mm2, S35 Sensor is 464mm2. That is almost 2x difference so the DOF can't be the same. Similar is possible but not exactly the same and that was what i wrote. 35mm lens would be magnified 1.39x.

Really cost ifective camcoder for cine production. Long recording time with build in ssd (solid state drive). Perfect sfd. Huge hd sensor works well. Exmor sensor processing great image quality. Exchangable lens and lot of third party lense adapters. Its there is no any camcoders stunning in low light condition capturization. It's perfect and great camcoder at this lower price tag. Thank u.

Becouse, zooming while capture is not requred in cine field. Professional movie camcoders like arri, red one, pantex is doesn'd have this auto or motorized option. There is option of third party acc like follow focus and preprogramed motorized follow focus if really need and zooming acc. At my opinion sony nex- fs100 is stunning in his way.(3)

The price tag of canon c300 camcoder same price as sony nex fs100. Canon c300 and canon 5d markx2 use same size 35mm hd cmos sensor. But sony use super 35mm exmor full hd cmos sensor which is use in professional film camcoders like sony f35 and sony pmw-f3. Super 35 sensor similer size to film size where use in cinema. Conventional handy camcoders and DSLR's sensores are smaller for this entry. Professional cinema comcoder's usually doesn't fited with auto or motorized zoom option.(2)

Sony nex fs100 is a professional film standard camcoder. This isn't a conventional dslr or handy camcoders. Dslr cameras are specialy made for still pictures. Sensor of dslr doesn't reach film standard. Becouse most of dslr sensors like 5d mkx2 smaller then professional camcoders. Dslr can't reach great sfd(shalow fiel of dept) look in movie mode. But dslr's capable for still image sfd's. Sony nex fs100 great in this fetures at this lower price tag. Canon c300 camcoder is repacage of dslr.(1)
