Built in 1977, Earth Surf was the first skatepark in El Paso, TX. With 3 snake runs, a slalom hill and a freestyle area, it was patterned after the famous Concrete Wave in Anaheim, CA. It would last 4 years before going out of business and eventually being bulldozed. This 8mm film archive takes us back in time when tube socks were rad and Farah Fawcett was every teenage boy's wet dream! How about that old school rock sound? Too cool.

  • I'm originally from EP Co., now in SD CA, where exactly was this park at?

  • Earth Surf was located in Northeast El Paso at the northern most end of Dyer Street (just past McCombs, across the street from the old Goonie Golf.)

  • That place looked like fun!

  • @KRIT777 It was my Dad's Minolta. I can't remember if it was an 8 or a super 8. I know he bought it in Japan ~ 1966. Talk about old school! Paul did the conversion by projecting the film and the videoing it. Back when he still worked for TV station.

I need to convert all my old 8mm ...
