Thanks for the upload! I'm preparing myself (as a listener) for a performance of this piece by the Knuss quartett on November 22 (2009) in Malmö, Sweden.
Really great music, as is also Lachenmann's "Mouvement vor der Erstarrung".

Well, I don't really understand what defines this "foundation of music". But in regards to Schoenberg, he is extremely misunderstood. Schoenberg was not trying to break all the rules and re-invent musical rhetoric. He actually wrote quite motive based music throughout his entire life. I mean, essentially, the tone row is just a really big motive. Some of his pieces are quite striking with how much musical sense they make. A new language but still articulate.
