Underground Cinema Presents: The Good German

Over a Wintry weekend in Melbourne, UGC took its members on a journey back in time to 1945 Berlin. The War was over. The Allied forces had liberated Berlin. American GI's roamed the rubble strewn streets, while women of the night tooted their wares against a backdrop of war torn streetscapes. Navy officers plotted in the war strategy room, with a keen ear listening for enemy plans over the radio. The sultry tones of a lone trumpeter seduced members as they enjoyed their drinks. After the screening of The Good German, a live wartime jazz band lead by the beautiful Jolene Moran got the crowd up and dancing. And a touch of burlesque added a dazzling and captivating ending to the evening.
