Where is your proof that domesticated animals would simply die out were it not for our murder and consumption? Can you actually illustrate how that would happen? And why do you keep citing "stupid city girls"? You are literally just making it difficult for your argument to be taken seriously because you are coming off as an asshole. "Typical"? You're a typical douchebag, You might find it better to ease yourself out of your snobbish tendencies and offer some hard evidence instead.

Well, where are you going to get your food?

It is simply a necessary evil.

However America is the worst place to be as a cow, they should come to Europe, the socialist here give animals a lot of rights

If there was a revised system, and they lived happily, then I would not complain. However, I'd still choose not to eat meat.

The only time I can appreciate meat production/breeding is when the animal is totally free-range, it is free from suffering, pain, fear and discomfort and that it has a natural diet.

There is no proof to show that they would live or die. It's a reasonable prediction based on the fact that their domesticated. If an animal grows up provided with food and water, then it does not learn the skills to find them on its own, and has only instinct. I agree with you in every other regard though. :P

I agree with you in saying they wouldn't survive undomesticated. But what purpose is there to serve? Eating them is a purpose, but what is our purpose? To view the consumption of meat within that context is problematic, simply because it's an belief that undermines its nutritional value (regardless of whether you know there to be nutritional value in meat or not). Consider what possible purpose any species could serve, and the absence of such purpose will become apparent. Species simply exist.

When you look at something like the consumption of meat, a key thing to consider is to what degree of richness does an animal experience its life. Surely it has a sense of suffering as well as happiness, but to make an argument in defense of eating meat based on the premise that animals and humans have the same degree of experience is problematic. Our current methods need serious revision, and animals do suffer under the current methods, but under a revised system they might live happily.
