Restrictions placed on sex offenders will be tightened next year when all states will be required to closely track sex offenders and inform the public about the most violent. Bill Whitaker reports.
Soon we will all be "tracked" by being microchipped in our hand as the bible says. There will be those who say "as long as it saves the children from sinfull sex it is worth it"
@SexOffenderIssues003 well, what is being said, is, if the registry can save ONE child, its worth it! what im thinking is, lock up all adults that will save a child from molestation(by an adult anywayz) but now the statistics say that 70 percent of all new sex crimes are committed by minors themselves!
@Dreambro1 Not everyone on the registry is bad. Some are on it for non-violent crimes like public urination and teens are on it for having consensual sex with other teens. Only 5% re-offend according to the DOJ, so if you want to know where the real bad men are, look at the corrupted politicians who expanded the list for their own monetary gain.
@SexOffenderIssues003 Educating our Children is the key to protecting them, and pointing out pics of bad men on the registry is not going to help,, even if they remember all the faces,, what are you gonna tell them,, if you see THIS MAN, run,,(even if the man has an arm full of groceries) BUT, trust everyone else! Dont get in THAT guys car! , but hop in everyone elses? Hmmm
Sex offender restrictions is like saying, Fat people arent allowed in Buffets! They can eat at home! ;-/ None of the restricted activities played part in the crimes committed anywayz! its crazy!
Sex Offenders have the LOWEST risk of recidivism among all criminals. Studies show this to be 10% and below, down to 3.5% and 1% in some places.
The fear is understandable, but it's a hyped up fear without justification.
The people like Garrido, Couey, Sowell, etc are rare, less than 5% of all sex offenders are truly dangerous, and by monitoring all 100%, it doesn't leave time for cops to monitor the real dangerous offenders.
