  • im thinking of growing castor beans but i was wondering is it safe to touch the bean? ive heard that theyre extremly poisonous

  • @resistislam2011 .....touching them is fine, eating them is not. If one passed thru your system on chewed, it wouldn't be toxic, but don't try this at home...lol

  • i would seriously watch your dog if i were you the pods and seeds from the castor bean are highly toxic and could be very deadly if ingested by your beautiful dog, i would really hate to see somthing happen to that magnificent animal over a 1 pack of seeds aka castor beans ... just a helping hand

  • @georgeman21222 .......Hi, thank you for your concern George. I am well aware of the dangers of the castor bean plants, I've been growing them for 30 years..I am very careful as I adore my husky...and yes, he is magnificent....and he knows it! lol...thanks again.....<3

  • Your plants are beautiful, but arent you concerned your dog may eat the seeds? Castor seeds, not only drop, they "shoot" out of their pods at great distances) All parts of the Castor bean plant, especially the seeds are DEADLY. I have a dog and Castor seeds of my own, but hesitate to plant them for fear I will not be able to cut the seed pods off before they drop or shoot. My dog means that much to me(im not saying yours doesn't). I did notice this video is from 2008, so i hope all is well.

  • @HellodaHell ........hi, sorry it took so long to get back to you, but no, my dog doesn't even bother with them, he's used to my plants and doesn't touch them at all, otherwise I wouldn't have them. I do know about the effects of these plants, I've been growing them for 30 years or so. My Siberian is 5 now and is a hell raiser lol...so he is fine. I'm not planting them anymore anyway, they have a tendency to take over. Thank you for your concern...all is well <3

  • mine are just over a story tall this year (2011)

  • Weapon training time???? Are you at war with someone? This conversation is interesting, message me if you want to keep this private.Snaarley

  • in oklahoma it's difficult to avoid early springs and freezes. On good years which my mind was sharp I was able to grow very dense castor bean. So through february march and april it takes great focus and observance and it grows thick with love as I trained on balance beams. Then during summer they wilt if not kept in mind thus returning me to train daily, their leaves are calendars and I assure you don't make a new enemy right before the castors freeze off. Cause thats weapon training time

  • I agree, but please explain to me more on your warrior status and how God used this plant . Please feel free to message me...Snaarley
