  • The fitting for the gauge sender is a standard size. Find a gauge you like and one wire will go to the provided sender, the other to any 12 volt supply.

  • How did you do the Temp Gauge? How is it hooked up? I'm looking to do this mod since I got rid of all the idiot lights.

  • You may be right, but I'm investigating further. I see no indication of a paint job whatsoever. And the original side covers weren't chrome. Some were replaced with chrome when they fell off, which was a common problem. By the way, it's my bike. My brother has it now in Tennessee. I love this bike.

  • @fouramhq Sorry my good man, all of the brochures I've found over the years state red and black as the only two colors. You also have incorrect factory logos on the gas tank. You can also tell by the color of the rear fender; it was black from the factory. You are also missing the 2 CX650 logos on the rear cowling. The side covers are supposed to be chromed. It is a rare bike, only 1,700 or so were made. I own one and am a member of the CX forums where there is a ton of knowledge available.

  • @odieturbo Nope. Yellow was an original paint color though not many were were produced. Not many of these bikes were built at all. Less than 2000. Yellow is a a rarity and a real keeper.

  • When you rebuild the forks, use 20 weight Belray oil. It does wonders for the handling.

  • They were only made in red or black, so the yellow is a repaint. Other than that, neat bike! I like the temperature gauge mod.
