A couple of CSX trains are seen near Sand Patch in August 2010. First, we see westbound autorack Q277 assaulting the hill at Manila, just a couple of miles away from the summit. The next day, we catch coal train V819 preparing to be loaded at the Shaw Mine just outside of Meyersdale.

Special thanks to o00o00ozy for bringing me along for one of his Sand Patch trips. Although this is the only video I have from the trip, I was able to get plenty of good photos.

  • Nice catch!!

  • Ah, that was a good trip, and I almost forgot about the "winking" SD40-2. It's too bad we didn't get a full show at Shaw Mine, maybe next time!
