@maiglockchen yes it not only said red hair but Ethan Hawke explained it in an interview saying that although she had red hair, he was so captivated by the beauty of the girl he got to play Sarah, (Catalina Sandino Moreno) that he could only see her for the part...She even became his "muse" and for a while could not get inspired unless she was with him or he was thinking about her. Crazy huh!!!

the only problem is the way sarah is described in the book she should have been tall chubby red hair someone who acts like they had no self esteem. that is who sarah was supposed to be.

The book was SOOO brilliant. I'm still real hesitant about seeing the movie. Plus, the book kind of broke my heart...I don't know if I am ready to relive that.
