@AlgeKalipso Really how come?.Im no scientist but as i understand it the process involves a greater role of clouds of cooling the earth.Sometimes there are not enough cloud sin the sky so you create what scientists call ''cloud condensation nuclei'',the book superfreakonomics talks about this.

@fenderboy88 I recognize the sensibility of your comment. Nevertheless I want to point out that, a priori, 'cloud seeding' does not seem intrinsically safer than what he proposes. Both possibilities should be tested in software thousands of times before being implemented, but I reckon that whichever is safer and more cost-effective would be difficult to anticipate by mere common sense. To give an example, SOME people argue that CO2 is harmless (plant food!) on the grounds that it is 'natural'.

@AlgeKalipso I like what you said.Global Warming is clearly real but to say that cap and trade is the only solution to solving this problem is misguided and optimistic.

Geoengineering should at least be and insurance policy or a back up.The idea of ''cloud seeding'' sounds sensible

This is great! I mean, having people who are extremely intelligent tackling the problem in a serious but realistic way. I am somewhat afraid of the possibility that computer models are not accurate enough to model emergent behaviours that are difficult to brake into simpler phenomena. I would wait, perhaps a decade until we have enough computing power to have certain and empirically tested climate models. Then it would be safe to apply geoengineering (so far no other choice seems possible).

Part 2: CO2 is produced during respiration by plants and by animals, fungi and microorganisms that depend either directly or indirectly on plants for food. It is a major component of the carbon cycle. CO2 is generated as a byproduct of the combustion of fossil fuels or the burning of vegetable matter, among other chemical processes. Small amounts of CO2 are emitted from volcanoes and geothermal processes such as hot springs and geysers and by the dissolution of carbonates in crustal rocks.

Part 1: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is composed of 2 oxygen atoms covalently bonded to a single carbon atom. It is a gas at standard temperature and pressure and exists in Earth's atmosphere in this state. CO2 is a trace gas comprising 0.039% of the atmosphere. It is used by plants during photosynthesis to make sugars, which may be consumed in respiration or used as the raw material to produce other organic compounds needed for plant growth and development.

Or steal money (bailouts) (pentagon, 2.3 trillion MISSING) to pay for the spraying of it through planes. If this is what is happening with the trails, why aren't they telling us? It's them not fessing up to it, that's what causes the DISTRUST in what they are doing. We deserve to know.
