Freedom of the Press: 60,000 Letters Delivered

Journalists and St. Paul citizens assembled outside St. Paul City Hall Friday to deliver more than 60,000 letters to Mayor Chris Coleman and prosecuting attorneys demanding that they immediately drop charges against all journalists arrested this week as they covered the Republican National Convention.

Dropping charges against the journalists is the least of it. Every journalist should sue the city for civil rights violations, and the cops or federal agents involved should be reprimanded or dismissed.

WHat about all citizens, not just all journalists... Fuck you, if you think that covering protests gives you extra rights that the other protestors do not have!!! Every single citizen in the USA is a member of the press, if they say they are! Reporting is something we all have a right to do! Unbelievable! ...the people of this country are so ignorant and narrow minded! Do you need to have a "press pass" in order to be considered "press"? If so, the freedom of the press is 100% meaningless!

If a media reporter is at a unlawful assemble and is contributing to the offence, he is guilty and should be arrested.

The media reporter some corporate media or some homeless guy with a stolen cell cam. has no constitution right to violate the law.  The ASSHOLE should arrested.

Coleman had a newsconference and he was all like "oh it was such a hard week for us."

Yeah, let's mace you and throw plastic cuffs on you, and toss you in some oversized chicken coop for a couple days, and see how hard you thought it was.

These people find civil rights such an inconvenience. How hard it must have been, Coleman, to mobilize riot squads to seek out protesters and bust heads. Rough day at the office.
