One of the Church's best messengers, Fr. Robert Barron gave the John M. Kelly Lecture in Theology on September 28, 2011.

Fr. Barron is widely known as an acclaimed author, speaker and theologian. He is currently the Francis Cardinal George Professor of Faith and Culture at Mundelein Seminary, near Chicago, Illinois. As the founder of Word on Fire, he is the creator and host of CATHOLICISM, a ten-part documentary series and study program about the Catholic faith.

He earned a Master's Degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America in 1982, before being ordained to the priesthood four years later. In 1992, he received his doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Institut Catholique de Paris. He then went on to teach systematic theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary.

  • @Water4Jeremiah celibacy doesn't cause pedophilia lol good luck on your fishing expedition go dig some more "awesome" atheist.. where does jesus say in the bible that pedophilia was acceptable?

  • Here is how I evangelise, I buy Christian literature and I distribute it in my city centre for free from a table. People come and talk to me, and I try to meet them later and seed them into a church that I feel having spoke with them suits them and can help them grow, and feel settled. That is how I evangelise - what do you do?

  • @lovellespice "Any facts to back that up?" You, are, awesome. Yes of course I do. That's the reason I am an atheist. It's because I like evidence to guide my reasoning and not rely on my strength alone (Proverbs 3:5-6?) Please Google "Milwaukee 8000" to see the results of celibacy on the sexual maturity of the priesthood. Especially note the date of the articles. It is very recent.

And as for an atheist knowing god I was only after I read the bible in full did I know it was a lie.

  • @Water4Jeremiah any facts to back that up? by your logic, an unmarried person cannot give relationship advice to a married person? if so, what does an atheist know about god? nothing. so shut up.

  • @lovellespice And the Catholic priest is more of the heckler watching men and women having sex neither contributing to the success or failure of the relationship but can't help but say all manner of inane things nonetheless.

  • @Water4Jeremiah to use your analogy, the atheist is more of the heckler watching the football game neither contributing to the success or failure of the sport but can't help but say all manner of inane things nonetheless

  • @pitrik33 "Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; when he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive." Proverbs 17:28

I always thought that verse was meant as an admonishing of "fools" and their "loose tongues". But I've come to realize that a "fool" will act foolishly regardless of what the wise say, and the verse was meant to remind the wise that you don't need to say much to be heard:

Sort of like an atheist gamer reminding a Catholic priest that god doesn't exist.

  • @Water4Jeremiah Immersing oneself in evil, and dealing with evil, are 2 entirely different things.

But by all means, if you have wisdom regarding overcoming the negative influence rampant in popular culture, post some videos.

  • 10:30 i think the cameraman likes that tattoo as much as i do

  • @svt283 Don't capitalize the word 'atheist' it's not a religion. If atheism is a religion then not playing football is a sport.
