Zombies dont engage becouse they are missing the action script. Those are at the servers of dayz. You can group civillians with a blufor or opfor unit and give them higher rank and 0 presence. This way you gave them a side to fight for.

another question. how do u get slow cam pans/movement. pressing shift makes it go to fast. and by default for me its way to fast.

have a look at the link in the description. posted in that thread a how to on the last page. use a xbox/ps3 controller or a joystick then you have betetr control over speed and motion of the camera

you have to start the editor within dayz. singleplayer>editor.

Since 1.7.2.4 singleplayer is disabled.

There is a workaround that can be found in the link in the description.
