  • LOL! this is so funny! Its called a torque converter! All automatics do this unless the torque converter locks up.

  • Not sure what's funny. The torque converter was already locked up. Check my notations for more details. When locked up, at 45 MPH, the car runs at 1500 RPM. Later, I'm going well OVER 45 MPH, but my RPM have dropped to 1200.

  • Extra tall overdrive gear at 160-170mph max (assuming 5speed auto) + the slushie effect.

  • i wudnt complain ur saving gas like a bitch like that

  • my 87 corolla does this too i think, lol! Once it's hits 4th gear around 40mph the car revs low and it runs smoother, but I don't know for sure since it doesn't have a tach

  • not in my 04. i got the sedan.

  • all automatic hondas do this. When you let off it unlocks to PREVENT engine braking. Its mostly to be smoother and get better mpg

  • thats just what autos do...

  • what is freewheeling??

  • do u feel the 4cyl vibrations through the steering wheel and cabin a lot?
