When people become Adults, most people want to work & live independent lives, and it's no different for people with autism. But the reality is very different! People with autism may find it harder to get the things that other people take for granted. Just how much harder; really depends on the autistic person & the severity of their autism. I've heard that 20% with the right support live completely independently, another 20% live completely 'dependently' & the remaining 60% live with some form of support through out their lives. In this film, an autistic person speaks for autism cymru about what he hopes for his future, the challenges he has, etc.
