This crash is but one example of a very serious collision that resulted in only minor injuries because everyone was wearing their seat belts. The young man in the small vehicle shown at 1:53 would have been ejected and very seriously injured or killed had he not been restrained by his seat belt. At 2:28 you can see the loading marks on the lap belt portion of the seat belt. Please, always wear your seat belt!

This particular crash occurred in 1993 but crashes like it occur every day so the message is timeless... wear your seat belt! Do not contact Randy946 if all you want to do is argue about seatbelts or seatbelt laws. Their value has been proven thousands of times. This collision is just one example.

  • What caused the crash? who was at fault?

  • @Jerimiah1977 The young driver in the car. He initially drove off the edge on the right side and overcorrected which brought him abruptly back in the roadway and left of center.

  • Oh that was shot Roughly around 20 years ago... What kind of camera were u using? Can u give me a model number?

  • @MrTONYTONYM It was a Sony standard 8mm camcorder that I bought in 1991, I'm sorry I don't remember the model number.

  • i thought 0:23 was blood on the door:)

  • GO SOONERS!

  • @panheadchick1212

no... that's just why you buy a car with a good safety rating. if the guy was going 100km/hr like what was the likely speed in this accident that detroit steel would have made you a nice pair of bracers, nuff said.

  • There could've been kids in the backseat of that car... Good thing there wasn't.

  • @panheadchick1212 Actually, it's been proven time and again that the newer technology with crumple zones, advanced handling characteristics, airbacgs, and ABS have a greater impact on saving human life than "Old Detroit Steel". If you had ABS, you probably would not have even hit the Toyota hard enough to put him in the hospital.

  • Very true, a seat belt saved my life and it can save yours too!

  • welcome to the shit safety cars of the late 80's :)

  • it looks like the car shat itself

  • holy crap look at the back of that car 1:56
