Prior to this battle, I had played 6 online games already (winning 3 and losing 3). Just like Rome: Total War, I jumped straight online once I bought the game so I'll be losing lots of battles before I get the hang of this game.

In this battle, I'm the Holy Roman Empire.

My opponent, Matt_862, uses the Byzantines.

  • Charlemangne was NOT French He the German emperor who was crowned in Aachen for anyone who doesn't what that is it is a German city to make that clear and another thing i would like to mention for anyone who does not believe me His german name was Karl der Große

  • @Jacdemoley You are very wrong.

    1. The Franks are a (west) germanic tribe, so you can't say "Franks ≠ Germans". Charlemagne was a Frank.

    2. Charlemagne wasn't crowned in Aachen but in Rome on 25 December 800 by Pope Leo III. He was crowned Imperator Romanorum (Emperor of the Romans), trenching the title from the rightful Roman Emperor, the emperor of Constantinople (i.e. Byzantine Empire). Roman Empress was Irene of Athens at that time and of course all the Romans (i.e. Byzantines) were offended

  • @Ma00f0 IM NOT Racist I AM REALIST. I HATE THE ENEMIES OF MY COUNTRY. THE BYZANTINES ARE GREEK PEOPLE

  • @unfukkkmee lol you are a stupid 5 yearold racist bastard..

  • @artinaam He was Crowned as King of the Franks in Aachen...

  • @Jacdemoley

He was crowned in Rome, not in Aachen...

But you're right, he wasn't French. He was Frank, at his times there was no such country as France.

  • wow... the byzantines sent out their varangian guard without support.. what kind of idiot does that.

  • @Jacdemoley

Pretty sure he was King of the Franks, who were Germanic but Germanic could be applied to a large range of people including those in what's now modern France. Also Karl Der Grosse is one of like 7 names he has translated into various European languages. Whether he was French or German as we conceive of them today is pretty much a useless thing to say, since those distinctions didn't exist in the same way they do now.

  • @Jacdemoley he was germanic...which could mean either french or german. Neither really existed back then, it was only after charlemagne's death that the empire fragmented into what is now france, germany, switzerland and northern italy.

  • @Lhein33 ΤΗΕ ROMANS ARE GREEK Arcadians

  • HEY ASSHOLE ASS German STOP THE FANATIC PROPAGANDA AGAINST, THE GREEKS

THE GAULS ARE GERMANS AND ALSO WAS ENEMIES OF GREEKS.

@Lhein33 IS NOT HELLENIZED. THEY WAS BORN GREEKS. THE THRACIANS ARE GREEKS. PHRYGIANS ARE GREEKS. CAPPADOCIANS ARE GREEKS.

  • @unfukkkmee Even if the ancient Romans (the people of the city of Rome) were of greek origin (which is not so sure), in the Roman Empire lived a lot of peoples (who were all called Romans after the 3st cent AD) that were not greek (they were distinguished from the Greeks even until the classical or the hellenistic age) like Illyrians, Thracians, Cappadocians, Phrygians, Gauls (who came to Asia Minor from modern France), Syrians, Dacians. All these were gradually hellenised and christianized.
