I used to fish the old Dan Russell city pier in Panama City Beach when I was a kid and there was always at least one or two full grown 'Cuda hanging out underneath ready to chomp someone's prize catch to pieces. Sometimes sharks would be the culprit to a ruined catch, but mostly it was the 'cuda's.

oh damn man, that sucks! I hate fishing for smaller game fish when the larger predators are around......especially when I'm not prepared to catch the larger fish! It always happens that way. Murphy's law of fishing. Awesome that you caught that on camera.
