3) Have strong, positive credit references

Here we go again with the assumption that I'd want to RAISE my score. I have achieved a score of ZERO. I owe NO ONE a dime & my net worth has gone from 400K to 500K in the last 3 years WHILE my score went from 829 to 0. Dave Ramsey himself just said this on his show. And, yes, you CAN get a loan with a 0 score. Pay off all debts, close all accts, and wait 6 months & you'll be at 0 according to Dave. I tell people to drive that "beater with a heater" & rent UNTIL you can move up w cash!
