Man look at Bills face... he knows the guy is lost but he is a kind respectful person so he gives him some attention and he struggles to figure out what he is playin.
SAD...

Yeah, people have no idea. He played on two records with Tony Williams Lifetime and anchored Tony Williams, Alan Pasqua and Alan Holdsworth on some amazing fusion. The danger of Youtube comments is:
modem+computer+opinion does not necessarily = genius

Maybe he was better back in the day, but it sounds like this guy is way past his prime and hasn't played in like 20 years.. Terrible..
-
@ThunderfunkAmp Are you saying Jamerson played on ABC? I'm pretty sure that was another fine player, and not James..or Tony.
-
I hate it when you're at the guitar store and someone comes up grabbing the bass from your hands.

Where does it say he was?
"Where Did Our Love Go", "Baby Love", "Stop In The Name Of Love", "Nowhere to Run" on the east coast, and on the west coast, "ABC', "Never Can Say Goodbye", "Don't Leave Me This Way", and many others. Also a little unknown fact is that Newton and James Jamerson played together as 2 basses on the above Motown Hits.

I removed some of the comments because there seemed to be some misunderstanding about who Tony Newton is. Comments about how The Buddah didn't need a lesson from Tony. But watch the attention that Billy gives Tony. Tony played on the records. He doubled Jamerson. Who better to show how it was done?
